Capcom has today revealed that Dead Rising 2: Off the record will be getting a sandbox mode.

“Requested by the fans since Dead Rising launched, the team at Capcom Vancouver has developed a Sandbox Mode exclusively for Dead Rising 2 Off The Record.”

In sandbox mode players won’t be limited by time like they are in the normal campaign and will be able to visit the casinos, restaurants and malls that make up Fortune City. Challenges will be placed around the city so that players can earn some extra cash to be used in the pawn shops and vending machines.

“Ranging from collection style challenges to vehicle-based challenges to zombie massacre challenges; the higher the rank of the player, the more cash they win.”
