Dead Rising 3 will feature online co-op similar to that of Dead Rising 2, Capcom liaison Greg “GregaMan” Moore confirmed in a post on the Capcom-Unity blog.
“Dead Rising 2 and Off the Record already taught us the joy of cooperative zombie slaying, but you can expect it to be more satisfying than ever in DR3,” wrote Moore. “Since you’re untethered to your partner, you can split up and take on the sprawling world of Los Perdidos from end to end. Or stick close together and utilize special co-op centric vehicles.”
Dead Rising 3 protagonist Nick Ramos’ co-op partner is a character named Dick, who is described as a big-rig driver by trade. Progress made in co-op is automatically saved and applied to the single-player campaign, so if you and a friend play through all of Chapter 3 together, but you’re only in Chapter 1 in your single-player run, you can skip that chapter when you reach it in the single-player campaign.
In addition to dishing about Dick and Dead Rising 3‘s co-op features, Moore also teased information on the game’s human enemies, the Psychos, to come soon, and provided a glimpse of “Greed”:
Dead Rising 3 launches exclusively for Xbox One alongside the console itself on November 22.
