Dead Space 3 will include microtransactions for crafting resources in the game’s new weapon crafting system.

The image above was taken by Eurogamer and shows the ability to purchase additional crafting resources if you run low. Now this has led a few people to worry that boosters could get an early advantage if they bought a lot of resources with real money, but Dead Space 3 associate producer Yara Khoury clarified the situation, “You can buy resources with real money, but scavenger bots can also give you the currency that you can use on the marketplace. So you don’t have to spend [real world] dollars.”

“There are a lot of weapon parts that are only available to buy later in the game. Unless you’re playing through it again [on New Game Plus],” he added.

The Dead Space 3 demo is available to download on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 from today.
