Dead Space 3 Infinite Item Glitch Ain’t a Glitch, Says EA

According to an EA public relations representative, the previously reported Dead Space 3 glitch that gives infinite items is more than just a happy accident.

“The resource-earning mechanic in Dead Space 3 is not a glitch,” EA public relations representative Jino Talens told Game Front. “We have no plans to issue a patch to change this aspect of the game. We encourage players to explore the game and discover the areas where resources respawn for free. We’ve deliberately designed Dead Space 3 to allow players to harvest resources by playing through the game. For those that wish to accumulate upgrades instantly, we have enabled an optional system for them to buy the resources at a minimal cost ($1-$3).”

In all likelihood, this is just spin—that is PR’s job. Still, I like EA owning this and celebrating it as an alternative to microtransactions instead of feeling unwarranted shame. There are worst glitches to be had. Glitches that break games, make them unplayable.
