Dead Space’s Executive Producer Talks About His Hopes For Next-Gen Consoles

THE BUZZ: Steve Papoutsis—the executive producer of the Dead Space titles—talks about a few things he’s really hoping to see from the next crop of home gaming consoles.
EGM’s TAKE: 360 Magazine over in the UK had a chance to speak to Papoutsis, who gave these thoughts.
“I’d love the convenience of installing your games like you do now but making that process automatic, as I want to avoid having to change discs. Microsoft has made a lot of nice improvements to the dashboard over the years so I’m expecting an even more refined and streamlined user interface for people to interact with when checking out stuff on the marketplace.
“I’m hoping the next Xbox will be up to speed with the cutting edge PCs of today. I’m looking for 60 FPS gameplay across the board with outstanding visuals and more processing power for physics. In terms of features, I hope the new system will always be on and connected, because it would be awesome to have games load up super-fast and take me back to where I was the last time I played.”
I definitely agree with him on the 60fps part—that and consistent 1080p are probably the top two technical things I’d really love to see from whatever comes next. Well, that, plus a total and complete reduction of games which suffer from screen tearing—that actually might drive me crazier than either lower frame rates or sup-HD resolutions.
What about you? What do you think about Papoutsis’ hopes for next generation systems?
