Curve Digital and The Chinese Room have announced that Dear Esther: Landmark Edition will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 20th.

Dear Esther is a narrative-focused first-person adventure that takes place on an uninhabited Hebridean island. Players take on the role of a lone man who is trying to piece together the chain of events that led to his wife?s death.

The console version of the game will feature graphical and gameplay updates in addition to a brand new Directors? Commentary from the original development team.

“The Directors? Commentary of Dear Esther: Landmark Edition unites Jessica Curry, Dan Pinchbeck and Rob Briscoe for the first time years as they reacquaint themselves with the game which made The Chinese Room a globally known development studio,” the developer writes. “The commentary offers first-hand insight on never-before-heard details, and provides a fresh perspective on the game?s development and legacy.”
