The beta for Trion World’s upcoming current-gen rerelease of Defiance was supposed to happen this weekend on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, but only PC players will be getting in now.
The developer announced that “in order to best optimize the experience for all players,” the planned console beta for the game was being pushed back to a “later date.” A new date for the console beta will be shared as soon as it is decided.
Defiance 2050‘s closed beta will run from April 20th through to April 22nd on PC. During the beta, players will be able to take part in co-op events, explore the world, complete story missions, and battle against fellow Ark Hunters in fast-paced PvP combat. As well as this, the Assault class, new progression system, and weapons and mods overhaul will all be available to test.
The new version of Defiance was officially announced last month and is set twenty years after the Arkfall event left millions of Votans dead and Earth terraformed into a post-apocalyptic landscape.
Defiance 2050 launches this summer for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
