Trion Worlds has announced the worldwide release date for its futuristic shooter MMO Defiance.

The game is set to launch April 2 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, ahead of the April 15 debut of the Defiance television show created by Syfy in collaboration with Trion.

“In terms of ambition and scope, Defiance‘s transmedia features make it unlike any other entertainment experience,” claims Nathan Richardsson, Trion’s vice president of development.

A brand new live-action trailer for the game can be found below. Defiance‘s second beta weekend is set to begin next Friday, February 8.
