Trion has announced the official start date of Defiance‘s first beta event titled “Advanced Beta Mission 1.″

The event will begin January 18 on PC and run until January 20. Players will be in the San Francisco Bay region and play as the ark hunter–part treasure hunter, part mercenary. Players will have access to the Waterfront competitive multiplayer map, Mt. Tam, the game’s tutorial, and open-world boss battles–Shadow War and Arkfall.
