Destiny

Guardians are only one day away from the arrival of Destiny 2‘s next DLC—Black Armory—and a slew of new Elite weapons to acquire. In a surprise that no one saw coming, it seems one of the special guns will be a returning Exotic, but players will have to wait quite a while to hunt it.

In the latest trailer for the first expansion from the Destiny 2: Forsaken Annual Pass, Bungie offered a brief look at the many Elite guns that Guardians will have access to after completing Lost Forges. As seen in the clip below, the standout will be the Exotic Last Word, a hand cannon that was heavily featured in the first Destiny.

While it’s extremely exciting to see the developer bring back a hand cannon that many players grew to love in The Taken King expansion, it appears that it will take some effort to add it to a collection. Guardians will be required to complete the Exotic quest “The Draw,” which won’t launch until January 29th.

Still, players will have plenty of other weapons to earn once Black Armory hits the game on Tuesday, December 4th. Each of the Elite weapons, which can be seen in the list below, will be locked behind new endgame activities called Lost Forges. According to design director Evan Nikolich, the Lost Forges will require a high Power level to complete, but they won’t take as long to run through as a raid.

Elite weapons

  • Sniper Rifle, Izanagi’s Burden (consume full clip for multiplied damage)
  • Legendary Scout Rifle, No Feelings
  • Bow, Le Monarque (precision kills create a poison cloud)
  • Legendary Machine Gun, Hammerhead
  • Fusion Rifle, Jotunn (explosive shots ignite the ground)
  • Legendary Hand Cannon, Kindled Orchid
  • Legendary Shotgun, Threat Level
  • Grenade Launcher, Anarchy (mines link to form arc field)

While only players with the Annual Pass will be able to enjoy the Elite weapon options, all Guardians with Forsaken will be able to climb to the shooter’s new Power level cap.

Destiny 2 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
