Destiny

Guardians are one week away from the launch of Destiny 2‘s next season—Season of the Forge—which has prompted Bungie to reveal new details about what to expect from the expansion.

In the latest Bungie ViDoc, which you can check out below, the developer broke down the significant pieces of content that will be included in the game’s fifth season and Black Armory DLC. Instead of a brand-new story, like Forsaken introduced, players will find many more activities and gear sets to occupy their time. As for the major additions, there will be a new raid—Scourge of the Past—that will be accessible from the ruins of the Last City, as well as three new Exotics and a Power level increase.

It appears Bungie has leaned into the name of the new season, as the mini-expansion will task players with discovering four lost forges. Each area will be guarded by a different enemy type, such as Taken or Fallen, forcing the Guardian to wipe out wave after wave of enemies. Completing each forge will give players a chance to find new loot, including some pretty impressive new weapons, like a sniper rifle that can do one-hit body shots. There will also be three new Pinnacle weapons, with one available through Gambit, one in Vanguard Strikes, and one in Crucible.

Since the season will be packed full of challenging activities to complete, the current Power level cap of 600 will be raised to 650. According to Bungie, the cap will be increased by 50 in each of the upcoming seasons included in the Destiny 2: Forsaken season pass. Also, players will have new Triumphs and Collections to check off their list, so it sounds like Season of the Forge will offer plenty of new content to enjoy.

While Black Armory won’t be as expansive as Forsaken or the previous DLC, Guardians will have daily activities to jump into starting December 4th through February. Then, the next season and mini-expansionJoker’s Wild—will arrive.

Destiny 2 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
