Destiny

Destiny 2 players will head into Forsaken with one major plot point spoiled: the death of Hunter Vanguard Cayde-6. However, there should still be some mysteries thrown into the mix, such as the status of a few classic characters. In particular, Bungie has already provided a clue about one by way of a DLC preorder bonus.

As previously revealed, Guardians that preorder the expansion through GameStop will receive a collectible deck of cards. According to a recent thread on the Destiny subreddit, players have already started to receive their packs and have discovered a possible spoiler of Forsaken‘s story. As shared by user SabySins, each card has a major character that players will encounter in the DLC. What’s odd is that one of the cards depicts Mara Sov, the Awoken Queen.

While she has been presumed dead since the events of Destiny‘s The Taken King, the description on her card says “some remain skeptical of the finality of her passing.” In turn, the card could be hinting that the Awoken royal will return in some way.

The developer has already revealed that Mara’s brother, Uldren, will be playing a significant role in Cayde-6’s demise, so the card could be another hint at the prince’s motives for siding with Barons. If Mara does return, it’s unclear how she’ll appear, though. Many Guardians have theorized that she could be the boss waiting for players at the end of Forsaken‘s upcoming raid, Last Wish. Of course, players will just have to wait until September 4th to work through the DLC’s story and get some answers.

However, even if players are able to blaze through the expansion’s story, they’ll have to wait for the new raid. According to a recent blog post from the developer, access to The Dreaming City’s Last Wish won’t be available until September 14th.

Destiny 2 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The Forsaken expansion will launch on September 4th.
