Destiny

While Destiny 2‘s upcoming expansion will include several exciting features, players will also have to wade through a gritty new story that will bring an end to Hunter Vanguard Cayde-6. In preparation of the dark turn of events, Bungie has shown the battle leading up to the character’s downfall.

During this year’s Gamescom, the developer unveiled a new four-minute clip called “Last Stand of the Gunslinger,” which gives a more detailed account of how Cayde-6 ends up face to face with Uldren Sov’s gun. In the clip, the fan-favorite Hunter does his typical wise-cracking after several Scorn escape from their cages, but the tide quickly turns after a Sniper destroys his Ghost.

While the ending of the short cutscene doesn’t feature Uldren Sov, the character that Bungie has already revealed will be delivering the fatal blow to Cayde-6, it clearly sets up why the Vanguard looked so defeated in the E3 teaser trailer.

Thankfully, Bungie didn’t only have death and despair to share during the recent event. The developer also announced that Guardians will have a chance to try out Forsaken‘s upcoming Gambit mode three days before the launch of the new DLC. Starting on Saturday, September 1st at 10 a.m. PT, players will have 24 hours to try out the PvP and PvE hybrid experience. Plus, the new weapon slot changes, which will allow Guardians to have more control over the weapons that can be equipped at the same time, will be available to test.

Destiny 2 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The Forsaken expansion will launch on September 4th.
