Destiny

Despite Destiny 2 players anxiously awaiting the arrival of Forsaken, Bungie has already offered a glimpse into the future of the sci-fi shooter past the upcoming DLC’s launch.

The September 4th expansion will kick off what the developer is calling the Season of the Outlaw, which will come packed with the new campaign, Gambit mode, and a collection of fresh gear to hunt. For a look ahead, Bungie has also shared a new content roadmap that specifically highlights the annual pass and free seasonal content that will be heading to Destiny 2 after Forsaken arrives.

“After Season of the Outlaw concludes, each subsequent three-month season will usher in a month-over-month roll out of new experiences, events, rewards, and activities, most of which will be available for free to every Destiny 2 player,” Bungie explained.

As seen in the roadmap below, Guardians can now get a better idea of what the developer has planned through summer 2019, which will include several free updates and the next expansions—Black Armory, Joker’s Wild, and Penumbra. Unlike the first three expansions for Destiny 2, the upcoming packs will be locked behind Bungie’s new annual pass. Players can currently purchase a bundle that includes Forsaken and the pass for $69.99 or $34.99 for the annual pass on its own.

The developer also shared a ViDoc that features the team behind Forsaken explaining the ins and outs of the fall expansion. Bungie has been prepping players for the DLC’s arrival for months now, teasing that it will be the largest update Destiny 2 has received so far. The campaign alone will introduce a wealth of new content for Guardians, from avenging Cayde-6’s death to discovering the identity of the raid boss.

In another recent blog post, Bungie also provided the patch notes for update 2.0 that arrived on August 28th. While September 4th will usher in the DLC, this latest patch included a long list of smaller but helpful tweaks that will tie in with the updates coming in the expansion, with most tied to class changes. For a look at the full patch notes, check out Bungie’s post.

Destiny 2 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The Forsaken expansion will launch on September 4th.
