Destiny 2 is finally confirmed via the official Destiny Twitter account.
Not much information is currently available on the game, but the reveal image seems to show the Last City in flames, suggesting the future of Destiny takes a dark turn.

It’s worth noting that the visual imagery appears to confirm a previous plot rumors, in which a reported leak from Mega Bloks described a game centered around a Cabal invasion of the Last City and the Tower.
The game’s confirmation isn’t all that surprising considering the recent leak of a promotional poster by Italian retailers. The official reveal does not include a launch date, but the retailer leak suggests that the sequel will drop on September 8th, 2017, giving it a similar launch window to the original game.
Launch platforms were another detail missing from the Tweet, but PlayStation tweeted out the game’s reveal almost immediately, while Xbox has yet to do so at time of writing. This could suggest a continuing exclusivity deal between PlayStation and developer Bungie like the one the two companies had for the first Destiny—something else rumored by the previous poster leak. It is currently unclear if the game will launch for PC, but recent teases suggest that it will.
