Hot (or cold) off the heels of the Coldheart Exotic Rifle pre-order bonus reveal trailer, Bungie and Activision have unveiled two additional reasons for players to lock down their copies early, including a unique tracking device and special emote. The extra goodies are available to any version, from standard to the collector’s edition, but only pre-ordering through the PlayStation and Xbox online stores will guarantee both.
In a trailer just as cheeky as the “Ice Ice Baby” one for Coldheart, the Kill-Tracker Ghost footage, seen below, shows off the floating device, which tracks and lists the player’s kill count in both PvE and PvP battle. Unfortunately, it seems to just show the general number of kills and does not display stats on accuracy or the most effective weapon used. Just like the new Exotic Rifle, the tracker will be available on launch day to those who purchase the game through pre-order. However, the fine print also states the Kill-Tracker Ghost will become available in-game to all players six days after launch on September 12th. Players can guarantee the bonus ghost and its special skin by pre-ordering from GameStop, the United Kingdom’s GAME, EB Games, or digitally through the PlayStation and Xbox stores.
With a new weapon and a handy item to keep the kills in check, those looking for a little flair can also use the Salute Emote pre-order bonus. Whether honoring a fallen Guardian or letting them know you appreciate their service, the salute stance will also launch on day one. It’s unclear if the emote will ever become widely available outside of early adopters, but for as simple as it is, most players probably won’t be disappointed missing out on it. As well, the bonus is only available through PlayStation and Xbox store digital purchase, meaning players who want all three gifts will have to take this route.
Despite the rumors some of these pre-order bonuses would only be available to PlayStation 4 players, it seems the only extra gift Sony owners will receive is a dynamic theme. Thankfully, the recently revealed new Crucible mode, Survival, will be available to every player, giving more reason to look forward to 4v4 multiplayer.
Destiny 2 launches for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6th, with a PC release on October 24th.
