Bungie’s recent live Twitch stream revealed Destiny 2‘s third expansion, Forsaken, will launch on September 4th. Several features of the DLC were also shown off, including more Supers, a new weapon type, and a mode that fuses PvE and PvP.

As seen in the documentary-style trailer below, the developer has given a brief overview of what to expect from Forsaken. As previously believed, the expansion will take place in the Reef, but this time, Guardians will have several new areas to explore. In particular, the Tangled Shores will feature waves of powerful enemies that recently broke out of Cayde-6’s prison, including a new version of the Fallen, known as the Skorn.

Perhaps the most enticing addition will be the Gambit mode, which will meld PvP and PvE. Two teams will face off against one another in separate arenas by taking out waves of enemies. Once the match gets to a certain point, teams can then send over one Guardian to attack the other team and drop a powerful enemy on them.

As for gameplay changes, Bungie revealed random weapon drops will return from Destiny, which will give players more customization options and diversity in their loadouts. A new weapon type, the bow and arrow, will be introduced in Forsaken. New Supers will also be available, such as the Hunter’s Fire Knives.

On top of all of the significant features, Bungie teased a long-awaited system will finally be added to Destiny 2. Players will have access to a collections archive that will let them keep track of every weapon, armor piece, and more that can be acquired. Achievements will also be added into the mix to push Guardians to try new challenges outside of missions and gear collecting.

Destiny 2 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
