Destiny

While Destiny 2‘s next major expansion, Forsaken, will bring a ton of new activities and gear to the shooter, PlayStation 4 players will get a few extra perks.

Just a few days before the DLC’s launch, Sony has revealed the exclusive Forsaken content that will be available to its loyal players on September 4th. Up for grabs will be a new Exotic, ship, armor sets, and a special Strike.

First up, as seen in the image above, the new Exotic, Wavesplitter, has an intimidating but intriguing look. According to PlayStation’s blog post, the gun will be similar to the Coldheart, but instead of using a frozen projectile, the gun will fire off an energy beam. Interestingly, the longer players hold down on the trigger, the weaker the beam will become. Picking up an Orb of Light will bypass that, though, as it will keep Wavesplitter at its maximum power.

The Exotic will surely come in handy when running the PlayStation-exclusive Strike, Broodhold. The activity will take Guardians to the Tangled Shore where a Hive ship has crashed, leaving behind hordes of enemies and the powerful Hive Brood Queen. For a sneak peek, check out PlayStation Underground’s run through the Strike. Players will even get a look at the Wavesplitter in action.

All three Guardians classes—Warlock, Titan, and Hunter—will also receive new armor sets. Check out the gallery below to see Thorium Holt for Warlocks, Mimetic Savior for Titans, and Red Moon Phantom for Hunters, as well as the new Great Beyond ship.

While Xbox One and PC players will have to wait several months to get access to the new content, Activision previously revealed that the PlayStation-exclusive bonuses that launched with Warmind will be finally available on all platforms on September 4th, Forsaken‘s launch day.
