As part of a donation drive for charity at GuardianCon, Bungie has revealed several interesting tweaks headed to Destiny 2 in the upcoming 1.2.3 update, including a buff for Escalation Protocol, new vendor items, and more.

During the recent gaming convention, Bungie community manager dmg04 promised fans that with each donation milestone met, he would unveil a patch note from the shooter’s next update, which is set to arrive on July 17th. With over 11,000 donations by the end of the day, dmg04 had revealed a few standouts from the update’s notes, which can be seen in the series of tweets below.

First up, Warmind‘s Escalation Protocol event, which has Guardians facing off against seven waves of powerful enemies, will have its weapon drop chance increased. According to the community manager, the weapon rewards will “be more deterministic.” In other words, players will have a better chance of finding what they’re looking for after defeating the boss more than once.

The update will also allow Guardians to search Nessus for the Exotic Catalyst for Sturm, a hand cannon that was recently buffed by Bungie. It’s unclear if it will be a challenge to find the Catalyst, though, as dmg04 simply teased that it will be earned by defeating enemies on Nessus.

One of the more controversial tweaks will be to Heroic Adventures. As revealed by the community manager, Momentum will be removed from the activities in the update. The modifier has received mixed criticism since its debut, as it requires Guardians to be in motion to recover their health and shield. On the one hand, it made it tricky for players to take cover, but on the flip side, it added some variety to gameplay.

For players with access to the Curse of Osiris expansion, all weapons obtained in the Mercury Forge will soon be available directly from Brother Vance. Once Guardians have uncovered all of the unique weapons, the merchant will sell them in the Lighthouse, which should help players that might have accidentally dismantled one of the Forge guns.

Bungie’s representative also revealed other patch notes that weren’t as groundbreaking, such as text tweaks. However, the other previously mentioned changes arriving in 1.2.3 will surely change up a few areas of the shooter for the better. Also arriving on July 17th will be the Prestige version of the Eater of Worlds raid lair. Then, just one day later, Guardians will be able to take on Spire of Stars’ Prestige challenge.

Destiny 2 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
