Ahead of tomorrow’s live Twitch stream, Bungie has revealed the name of Destiny 2‘s next expansion.
The developer shared a short teaser on Twitter for its upcoming reveal event on June 5th. While brief, the video confirms the third expansion for the sci-fi shooter will be called Forsaken. Check out the video in the tweet below.

In the clip, the famous Hunter Vanguard Cayde-6 and a fellow Guardian land in what appears to be a rebuilt version of the Reef, a location featured in the first Destiny. Players familiar with the area will remember it as the home of the Awoken, which was closely tied to The Taken King expansion’s story. It also hints that the Fallen could play a large role in the DLC, as the symbol of the enemy race is shown beneath the upcoming DLC’s title.
While the tease gives room for Guardians to speculate, the major questions about Forsaken should be answered during tomorrow’s stream. Interested players can head to Bungie’s Twitch channel at 9 a.m. PT to hear more about the expansion and other plans the developer has for Destiny 2‘s second year. One feature that might take the spotlight is one that Activision Blizzard said will be completely new to the first-person shooter genre. According to a previous statement from the publisher, the third expansion will include an “incredibly engaging” feature that should shake up Destiny 2 and other shooters.
Launching only an hour after the reveal event will be a significant change to Faction Rallies. Players will have to pledge allegiance to one faction with all three character classes, but in return, Bungie has created more unique rewards for the winning team, including new Exotic armor ornaments and Masterworks Catalysts.
Destiny 2 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
