While Bungie has recently been unveiling new details about Destiny 2‘s upcoming expansion, Warmind, Guardians discovered something that wasn’t focused on in the developer’s presentations. Eagle-eyed fans spotted a few interesting details in the DLC’s recent prologue trailer, including a map for Mars’ patrol zones.
In a post on the Destiny subreddit, user DICTATUSNORDIC shared screenshots of a map of the DLC’s Mars setting. In the image, which you can see below, it appears that the planet will be divided into five patrol zone areas. Though it’s not marked as such on the map, this entire region is known as Hellas Basin, as referenced in the trailer and the reveal stream.
Regardless of the possibility of a more extensive map, it already seems that Mars will be a vast location to explore. As Reddit users pointed out, it seems to be around the same size as Titan. Thankfully, Bungie did not repeat the same design found on Mercury in the Curse of Osiris expansion, as its primary patrol zone was small and underwhelming.
Also found on the map was a reference to collectibles. It seems players will have at least 45 pieces of data to uncover on Mars. Of course, there could be more if the map is larger than it currently appears. An in-game image of one of the new collectibles can be seen below.
With only a few weeks before Warmind‘s arrival on May 8th, the developer recently detailed several features of the DLC in a live Twitch stream. The upcoming Escalation Protocol mission and PvP-based Legendary pulse rifle were just a few of the new pieces of content shown off. Bungie also quietly updated the official Destiny 2 site to reveal the name of Warmind‘s raid lair.
Destiny 2 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
