Destiny

This week’s Destiny 2 blog post from Bungie was primarily dedicated to upcoming balance changes that players will experience in all modes of play. From Crucible to subclasses, Guardians will soon see many changes.

As explained by Destiny 2‘s design lead, the first batch of tweaks will arrive in January. First, rapid-fire snipers will be moving to a two-shot body kill, and the number of lower zoom scope weapons will be increased. Then, buffs and nerfs for subclasses that existed before Forsaken will be implemented. Notably, the Nova Warp Super will be nerfed to make it less potent.

Another exciting change will be to the Telesto fusion rifle, which currently does far more damage at a faster rate than any other gun in its class. Bungie’s design lead revealed that it will decrease its firing rate to give other fusion rifles a chance. “Late in January you will find that Telesto’s bolts-to-kill will now match its charge rate, where it was previously doing more damage than other fusion rifles of its type,” he wrote. “That said, due to it being affected less by damage falloff due to its explosive nature, it will still be more consistent than fusion rifles of the same charge rate.”

The last batch of tweaks will be for Crucible and the amount of Power ammo that players will find. Part of Bungie’s year one updates was to add more Power ammo in PvP to liven up battles, but since then, Guardians have complained it’s almost too easy to find. Moving forward, the ammo will spawn less frequently. To see the tweaks, see the patch notes below.
