Destiny 2 fans have discovered evidence in the game’s recent Crucible trailer to suggest that some Exotic gear from the original game is being recycled for the sequel.

In a post on Reddit, user kristijan1001 shared two images pulled from the trailer that seem to prove the return of at least two Exotics in Destiny 2 (via Game Rant). The first image depicts a Titan wearing The Taikonaut Exotic Helmet, while the second is of a Warlock sporting the Starfire Protocol Exotic Chest.

For personal reference, fans can check out the gear in the trailer at around the 35- and 55-second marks, respectively. Bungie has yet to confirm returning Exotic gear, but the trailer would make it hard to deny.

As can be observed in the comments below the Reddit post, some fans are excited at the prospect of their favorite gear making a comeback, while others fear this rehashing of old content will limit the amount of new content Destiny 2 brings to the table. It would seem most can agree that limiting the recycled gear to one or two pieces would offer a happy middle-ground between nostalgia and novelty. There is also the possibility that returning Exotic gear could keep their unique designs but be downgraded to Legendary status, which would be another acceptable compromise.

Destiny 2 is slated to launch September 6th on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a PC release date of October 24th. Follow EGM’s extensive coverage of everything Destiny 2 in our full Destiny 2 guide.
