Destiny beta won’t run at 1080p on Xbox One, but final game will

Posted on July 17, 2014 AT 03:02am

The Destiny beta will not run at 1080p on Xbox One when it rolls out next week, according to community manager David Dague, but the final game in September will.

Dague confirmed on an IGN livestream last night that the final game on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will render at 1080p, but only the PlayStation 4 version of the beta will achieve this resolution. The actual resolution of the Xbox One beta wasn’t confirmed.

A few weeks ago Bungie stated that it would be bumping the Xbox One version of Destiny up to 1080p thanks to a development kit update that Microsoft rolled out that allows developers to sacrifice Kinect tracking for additional GPU power.

The Destiny beta is set to begin today, July 17 on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, with the Xbox 360 and Xbox One to follow on July 23.
