Looking forward to the Xbox Live Arcade version of Minecraft getting more of the features that the PC version currently has? Here’s a glimpse at what’ll be coming next.

Speaking to Official Xbox Magazine in the UK, 4J Studios’ Paddy Burns says that the next update to the XBLA version will bring Minecrft v1.7.3—not 1.7.2 as previous expected. What will this mean? Well, it’ll mean you’ll also be getting the big addition from that version—pistons.

What’s going to be far more difficult to implement, however, is Minecraft v.18—aka the “Adventure” update. In this version, you’ve got things like the creepy Endermen, NPC villages, underground dungeons, the new stamina gauge, and more.

“There are no big architecture changes with the move to 1.7.3, so it’s been quite straightforward,” Burns told OXM. “The move to 1.8.2 is much more challenging.”
