The mainline Pokémon games on the 3DS are done, but before the series takes a bow on the console, there’s one final game left to go: Detective Pikachu. Thanks to Nintendo’s latest reveal, we now know the game’s release date: March 23rd.

We’ve known the game was coming for a while (there’s an entire movie based around it), but it’s still quite an experience to see a gruff-voiced, deerstalker-wearing Pikachu stalking down the streets of Ryme City. The latest trailer for the game shows off what we’ll see as the Pikachu and his human partner, Tim, investigate the mysterious disappearance of Tim’s father.

The first episode of the game has already been out in Japan for a while, and Japan will be getting part two in March as well. The North American release will include both parts of the game.

That’s not all Nintendo has revealed, however. We’re also getting a special Detective Pikachu amiibo, and it’s gigantic—twice the height and width of a normal amiibo nearly the size of a 3DS itself. This amiibo will let players check out “Pika Prompts” within the game, offering them more clues and hints to help solve the mystery.

Detective Pikachu releases exclusively for the 3DS on March 23rd.

Detective Pikachu gets a release date—and a ginormous amiibo

We knew Detective Pikachu was going to be big, but we didn't think Nintendo meant that literally.
