Deus Ex, Dungeon Siege, Dragon Quest Do Well For Square Enix

Posted on November 4, 2011 AT 01:59pm

THE BUZZ: Square Enix today released some information on their most recent sales period, and all three of their releases for that period showed great success.

First up is Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which has now shipped 2.18 million copies—the breakdown for that being 800K copies sold in North America, and 1.38 million copies sold in Europe. Meanwhile, Dungeon Siege III has sold 820,000 copies—with the breakdown being 20K for Japan, 320K for North America, and 480K for Europe.

The final title in their six-month period ending September 30th was the currently Japan-only Wii release Dragon Quest 25th Anniversary Collection, which to that point had sold 350,000 copies.

EGM’s TAKE: While not super blockbuster hits, those are still very good numbers for those games. Thanks to releases like Deus Ex, Square Enix saw a rebound in overall profits, which were up 115% over the previous six-month period.
