Mad Max

In response to overwhelming fan demand, Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios will be giving the titular Max a proper Aussie accent in their open-world adaptation of Mad Max.

Studio founder and chief creative officer Christofer Sundberg took to Twitter to acknowledge fans had been heard.

Outcry over Max’s accent began when Avalanche revealed Mad Max with a teaser trailer at E3 2013, in which Max’s dialogue was spoken in a husky American accent instead of an Australian one. Max was portrayed by Australian actor/misogynist/racist/anti-semite Mel Gibson in the original three films, and will be portrayed by British actor Tom Hardy in Fury Road

Mad Max is set to launch on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360 spring 2014.
