Blizzard’s Chris Metzen took to the stage at the PlayStation Event to officially announce that Diablo III is coming to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
Metzen promised “painstakingly optimized control schemes” and a new four-player co-op mode designed specifically for the console version. He added that a playable version of the game is already up and running on PlayStation 3. Blizzard confirmed after the event that a playable build of the game will be available to try at PAX East, taking place in the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center from March 22-24.
“Diablo III looks and plays great on the PlayStation. We put a lot of care and thought into the PlayStation version to make sure it would deliver an authentic Diablo gaming experience, and we’re really pleased with the results. We can’t wait for players to try it out at PAX East,” said CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment Mike Morhaime.
