You know that Legendary drop rate buff that you’ve been enjoying for the last week in Diablo III? Well get used to it, because Blizzard has announced that it is making it permanent.
The developer increased the drop chance for Legendary items by 100 percent last week, and it is now confirmed that this boosted drop chance is the new permanent base drop rate.
“I come bearing exciting news,” designer Travis Day wrote on the Battle.net forums. “Due to the overwhelming popularity of our Anniversary buff we have decided to keep the increased Legendary drop rate once the Anniversary celebration ends.
“Once the buff is disabled tomorrow morning, you will find that the new base line drop rates for Legendary items will be the same as those you have all enjoyed for the last week. Happy hunting and link the loot!”
However, the double Rift fragment drop buff that was also in effect will not be made permanent. “The double Rift Fragments buff will end at 5:00 a.m. PT tomorrow in the Americas,” community manager Lylirra wrote. “Perhaps it’s a buff we’ll bring back later, though!”
