The PlayStation 4 version of Diablo III will use the console’s DualShock 4 touchpad for inventory management, Blizzard has revealed.

Speaking in Sony’s latest Conversations with Creators video, Blizzard Entertainment production director John Hight revealed that making use of this new feature will help streamline the game’s inventory.

Diablo is a pretty deep game and we don’t like a lot of overload on the buttons,” he said. “We want to keep it really simple so you can get to the things you need to get to fast as you need to do it because the monsters are pouring at you no matter what. We think the touch pad’s going to give us a lot more opportunity to make that interface a lot easier.”

No additional information was given regarding how the touchpad will be used to achieve this. Diablo III was announced for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 at Sony’s PlayStation 4 reveal event back in February.
