Blizzard production director John Hight has revealed that Diablo III on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 will not require a constant Internet connection to play, unlike its PC counterpart.

“You can have four people on the same screen – no split-screen, we just zoom the camera out. Or if you’re offline,” he told GameTrailers. Hight also shared some details about a new evasion ability which will help players escape large encounters.

The console versions of Diablo III will feature couch co-op, an optimized UI, and all PC updates. Blizzard also confirmed over on the Battle.net forums that the game will feature no cross-platform support between console and PC, players will require separate characters for both. As well as this the developer added that controller support will not be added to the PC version.
