Diablo III Patch 1.0.4 Includes Several Co-Op Changes

Blizzard has shared a few changes that will be coming in patch 1.0.4 for Diablo III, and by the looks of it this is going to be one hell of a patch.
Over on Battle.net, senior technical game designer Wyatt Cheng has gone through several changes that are coming to the game. Most of the important changes are happening in co-op mode, in an attempt to get more people playing it.
“While many people are playing co-op, it’s still a minority of games. Ideally we would like players who want to play solo to be able to solo, and players who want to play co-op to play co-op. At the moment though playing solo is the clear choice, even for those who would prefer co-op with some of their friends,” he said. “The first change we’re making in 1.0.4 for co-op is to remove averaging in multiplayer games of Magic Find and Gold Find. You’ll benefit from your full Magic Find stat, independent of other players in the game…. Along the same lines as the change in 1.0.3, we’re going to be lowering the health multiplier for monsters per additional player in co-op games.”
“This makes enemies far more manageable in co-op games, and rewards a co-ordinated group with a higher farming efficiency than playing alone.”
Co-op changes aren’t the only thing on the agenda though, enemies are also receiving a stat overhaul. The patch will increase the health of normal enemies by 5-10 percent in Inferno difficulty, and will increase the likelihood of magic and rare item drops by a factor of four. The health of Champions and Rares will be lowered by 10-25 percent and massive difficulty spikes have been ironed out.
Finally Cheng also mentioned that a “metric-ton of changes to classes” will be included in the patch, these will be detailed at a later date.
