Not quite sure if you want to take the plunge and purchase Diablo III? Well the Starter Edition should help you decide.

A Starter Edition of the game will be available to download from Battle.net for the next 30 days, but there’s a catch. The download will only be accessible via a Guest Pass, these can only be obtained from boxed copies of the game. So you had better hope that one of your friends plans on buying it.

It contains roughly the same content as the beta did, allowing you to play up to Act 1 and level a character up to 13. You will only be able to use the matchmaking feature with other Starter Edition players and the Real-Money Auction House will be unavailable. If you have a mate who has been bugging you to get the game, then ask him/her to throw you over a code and you can try it out before sacrificing any money.
