Diablo III to Offer Global Play
Posted on May 7, 2012 AT 07:11am

Blizzard has announced that Diablo III’s servers will be open across regions, allowing players to play with anyone in the world.
The servers have been split into three regions – Americas, Asia and Europe – but players won’t be locked to the region where they purchased the game. Players can play with friends no matter where they are in the world. The only downside is that you will need to create a completely new character in order to play in a different region, and each of these will have its own items and friends lists.
You can also participate in that region’s gold auction house, however the real-money version will be locked. Only players from that specific region can use real-money for purchases. It’s not complete freedom to do what you like, but at least you can play with friends from around the world.
