As a way of saying thank you to all of the players that have stuck by Battlefield 4 during its post-launch troubles, developer DICE today announced (and partially detailed) the “Battlefield 4 Player Appreciation Month.”

Kicking off on Saturday, February 1st, DICE general manager Karl Magnus noted that—first and foremost—the month would bring with it even more fixes and updates for his company’s latest first-person shooter.

“First, we are further improving a number of items commonly referred to as ‘netcode’. This will tighten the overall multiplayer experience, and we will be able to share these items with you in detail soon,” Magnus wrote. “In February, we’re also re-introducing the fan favorite feature Platoons in its first iteration. In this added social layer, you can team up with your friends to create your own social space and accumulate stats together. We’re also working on other feature additions that you’ve been asking for – stay tuned for more.”

Player Appreciation Month won’t just be about patching portions of the game or bringing back social options, however—it’ll also bring with it a number of bonuses and perks for players who are active throughout February. While not all of DICE’s plans have been revealed yet, here’s a few that were mentioned:

A Battlepack a Day
Every weekday that you log into Battlefield 4, you’re earn a free Bronze Battlepack; on Saturdays and Sundays, it’ll be a Silver Battlepack. Battlepacks contain bonuses such as XP Boosts and soldier camo.

Shortcut Bundles
DICE will offer up a handful of (voluntary) shortcut bundles as free downloads during the month of February. Standard players will be offered two bundles, which will unlock all handguns and grenade. Battlefield 4 Premium members, however, will then get two additional bundles, unlocking all DMRs and shotguns.

Double XP Weekend
All players will get to participate in one Double XP weekend, while Premium members will then get access to a second one at some point during the month.

Community Missions
A selection of global DICE Community Missions will be offered up, where players can work together in order to earn Gold Battlepacks. Magnus revealed the first of these events, which will see players attempting to “grab a set number of dog tags during a specified time.”

DICE Developer Talks
“Increased developer interaction and transparency on how we work is frequently requested from our fans,” Magnus noted for the last part of Player Appreciation Month he revealed. “During Player Appreciation Month, we will host a number of interviews with some of the core developers of Battlefield 4. In these interviews, you can ask them about their line of work, the effort they’ve put into Battlefield 4, or in the case of our core gameplay designer, what the balancing process of Battlefield 4 looks like. We will announce the dates and channels for these developer interviews as the Player Appreciation Month kicks off.”
