DICE Details Battlefield 4′s Single-player Campaign Storyline

Posted on July 18, 2013 AT 11:52am

A post on the official Battlefield blog provides new details on Battlefield 4‘s single-player campaign and two of the members of Tombstone squad.

Be warned: What follows probably qualifies as “spoilers” for anyone seriously invested in Battlefield 4‘s single-player storyline.

In Battlefield 4, players assume the role of Tombstone squad’s Sergeant Daniel Recker, and will roll alongside Marine Combat Lifesaver Clayton “Pac” Pakowski and Staff Sergeant Kimble “Irish” Graves.

The single-player campaign starts off with an intelligence-collecting mission in Baku, Azerbaijan, then take players to the USS Valkyrie—a Wasp class carrier. From there, Battlefield 4‘s narrative arc moves to Shangai, where the members of Tombstone squad are tasked with extracting a group of VIPs from the city. By the post’s description, things get rather heated in Shangai, forcing Tombstone squad to fight their way out alongside CIA field operative Laszlo W. Kovic. Surviving Shangai, the Valkyrie takes Recker and company to Singapore, where “a horrific scene of fire and mayhem” finds players at a point wherein “nothing is certain.”

Battlefield 4 launches on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 October 29 in North America, November 1 in Europe, with PS4 and Xbox One versions to follow at each console’s respective launch.
