THE BUZZ: Dice has revealed that the team has had to reuse memory on the PS3 in order to make the game look as good as it can be.
Dice’s Johan Andersson has said via twitter that in order to make more resources available in the PS3 version of Battlefield 3 the team has to reuse memory that has already been allocated.
“yeah we reuse the memory, HUD is rendered absolutely last on top of the backbuffer”
He has mentioned in the past that console gamers have no idea what modern PCs are capable of.
EGM’s TAKE: As long as it doesn’t effect how smoothly the game runs I can’t see this being an issue however I’m sure developers will be crying out for the next generation of consoles soon so that they have more resources to work with.
