DICE is looking into adding Kinect features to the Xbox One version of Battlefield 4 that ”enhance controls,” such as head tracking.
“Through SmartGlass, Xbox players will be able to view the overhead map during multiplayer matches and take advantage of the second screen,” Battlefield executive producer Patrick Bach told Xbox Wire. ”Also, with Kinect, we’re looking into features that enhance the controls including peeking and leaning and tracking head movement as well as incorporating voice commands.”
Back at E3 in June, DICE general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson told Game Informer that the developer had no plans to mess with Battlefield‘s core gameplay by implementing needless Kinect features. However, he did add that Kinect could be used elsewhere in the game–with voice commands seeming the obvious place at the time.
