Battlefield 3

THE BUZZ: Karl-Magnus Troedsson, General Manager at DICE, has revealed that he and his team are nervous about the upcoming release of Battlefield 3.

He made it clear that the team isn’t worried because the game is bad, but it’s more to do with how much time and effort has gone into making the company’s biggest game to date. “We’re very proud of what we’ve been doing, but we’re also a bit nervous,” he said. “It’s a sequel to Battlefield 2, which came out in 2005. It’s been a long time coming. But we felt that now is the right time,” he said. But when you’re creating a sequel to a game like that, especially with all the hype surrounding it – and, presumably, that surrounding a certain other military shooter – you need to make sure it’s “the biggest and best Battlefield of all time.”

EGM’s TAKE: We feel that DICE has no reason to be nervous, as having played the game we’re sure it’s going to go down well with fans.

Are you worried that Battlefield 3 will disappoint?
