DICE To Adjust PDWs And Gives More Hints Of Caspian Border On Battlefield 3 Console Beta

THE BUZZ: DICE has revealed that the final version of Battlefield 3 will adjust PDWs (Personal Defence Weaons) and have more hints that the 64-player Caspian Border map might make it onto the console beta.
Some fans have complained that PDWs and other multi-class weapons are overpowered conpared to the AK-47 and other starting weapons. Alan Kertz, Senior Gameplay Designer at DICE, addressed these concerns by saying: “PDWs have been adjusted.…we are aware of the feedback and will continue to support BF3.”
It’s a PDW at high level, and it’s role has changed to be more like the VSS from BC2, though not as powerful,” he said, speaking about the AS VAL feeling under powered.
Additionally, the official Battlefield 3 Twitter account commented on the subject of whether the Caspian Border map would make it onto the console beta stating, “On the open beta, unfortunately no official word yet!”
EGM’s TAKE: The fact that DICE isn’t answering with a straight up NO seems to suggest that they are at least considering unlocking the map on the console version.
