Dice: We’re Honestly Not Going After Call Of Duty

Posted on July 4, 2011 AT 07:23am

Battlefield 3′s Executive Producer Patrick Bach has insisted that Dice isn’t out to knock Call of Duty off its thrown with their game.

In the latest issue of Edge Magazine Bach claims that Battlefield 3 needs to carve its own path in the genre.

“Honestly, we’re not trying to go after CoD,”

“Of course there will be crossover – it’s a first-person shooter, it’s
modern-day, and there are resemblances on locations, even – we’re all
inspired by the same media and the world around us.”

“But to be a star you need to play your own songs,”

I think this is a good attitude for Dice and if they succeed in becoming the top game in the FPS genre then it will make it all the more worth it if they do it on their own merit.
