Smash Bros. series boss Masahiro Sakurai has confirmed that Diddy Kong will be joining Super Smash Bros.’ roster.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is out now in Europe and North America,” he wrote on Miiverse, “and to celebrate, Diddy Kong joins the battle!!” He later added: “We’ve increased Diddy Kong’s flexibility this time.”

It was recently confirmed that Rosalina and Luma from Super Mario Galaxy would be joining the roster for the first time. Other new characters include the Wii Fit Trainer, Mega Man, and the Animal Crossing Villager.

Super Smash Bros. is set to release later this year for 3DS and Wii U.
