THE BUZZ: See that screenshot above of DiRT 3. Pretend its DiRT 4 instead, because Iain Smith, Associate Producer at Codemasters, has unofficially told the world that DiRT 4 is, “on the way.” The admission comes from an interview Ian Smith took part in with Ryan Davis of Giant Bomb. When questioned about the difference between the upcoming DiRT Showdown and a proper sequel’s feature set, Smith said “Absolutely, DiRT 4 is on the way, obviously we can’t give too many key details about that right now.”

Of course no real details were given, but if Codemasters’ reputation is any indication we are pretty sure it will have cars in it.

EGM’s TAKE: A sequel was inevitable following the universally adored DiRT 3, but we’re still glad this cat has been let out of the bag. We love the DiRT franchise since, if nothing else, it fills that hole left by the lack of a quality SEGA Rally games in our lives.
