Dishonored Prequel Trilogy Series Tells Its Final ‘Tales From Dunwall’

Posted on September 27, 2012 AT 11:45am

Besthesda Softworks has released the last two parts of the “Tales from Dunwall” series, providing some more background story for Dishonored. It’s pretty grim stuff, honestly.

Part Two, “The Hand that Feeds” tells how the infection that plagues Dunwall’s citizens tears the community apart, following the perspective of a young boy.

Interestingly, the boy is given the power to control rats, much like protagonist Corvo Attano, but those powers can apparently turn on their wielders if they’re not careful enough:

While the first episode reveals how Dunwall was revolutionized by a new energy source, this next chapter is a cautionary tale – one that illustrates the advantages, and the dangerous disadvantages, of accepting supernatural abilities from The Outsider.

Part Three, “In the Mind of Madness,” may actually tell the story of how Attano acquires his signature mask, but whatever mystical properties it has aren’t addressed in the episode. Perhaps it’ll be further detailed in the game.

Watch both of them below, and you can catch the first one here, a recounting of how inventor and innovator Esmond Roseburrow saved and doomed Dunwall with discovery of whale oil as a source of power and energy.
