A few months back, Namco’s Katsuhiro Harada said that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 wouldn’t be going the route of offering purchasable DLC characters. Now, another developer has made that commitment as well.
Speaking to videogamer.com, Team Ninja head Yosuke Hayashi promised that Dead or Alive 5‘s character roster would be complete the moment you purchase the game—so players needn’t worry about additional for-pay choices coming later.
“We don’t feel that it’s right for fighting games,” Hayashi told VideoGamer. “We feel like this is a kind of sport, and you don’t change the rules for sports. Everybody plays by the same rules. You don’t have a 14-player soccer game versus an 11-player soccer game. That’s just not fair.”
