Don’t Look Now, But Sega Just Renewed Their Skies Of Arcadia Trademark

Sega fans have been clamoring for another Skies of Arcadia release for years now, preferably with HD remastering and way fewer random encounters. Those cries may finally be answered soon, if we can dare to hope.

CVG shares the promising news from NeoGAF that Sega has renewed their trademark rights for the classic RPG, giving us hope that the developer/publisher may be doing something with the game after all. Maybe.

Perhaps an HD remake? Not likely, but it would be nice.

An HD remastering? Most likely, and considering Sega’s financial problems, that would be the most efficient option.

According to the official document, the trademark renewal was mailed and processed a while ago, but everyone didn’t notice until now. Sega has openly acknowledged that Skies of Arcadia and Shenmue are their most requested HD projects, but so far they’ve only ported the former game to the Nintendo GameCube.

Oh, no — I just had a dark, dark thought.

Maybe Sega’s just updating their trademark so they can continue using Vyse in Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed. What if they’re doing that just so Aika and Fina can be included as paid DLC racers?!

That would be just awful, and I would literally die from the sheer disappointment. Don’t let me die, Sega.
