In just under a week, Double Fine reached their $725,000 goal for their latest crowd-funded project, Massive Chalice.

As of this posting, Massive Chalice has raked in $754,608 with 23 days to go on their Kickstarter campaign. And while a notable success, it pales in comparison to Double Fine’s previous Kickstarter campaign for their upcoming adventure game Broken Age, which reached it’s $400,000 goal within nine hours, and within 24 hours surprised $1 million.

According to the Kickstarter description, Massive Chalice is a tactical strategy RPG inspired by XCOM, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Fire Emblem, in which multiple generations of heroes defend against a persistent demon invasion. Players will manage their warrior’s lives, deciding whether they return to the frontline or stay home to rear the next generation of warriors.

Double Fine release Massive Chalice on Windows PC, Mac, and Linux by September 2014.
