Dr. Luigi, a modified version of the Dr. Mario puzzle series, will be available via the Wii U eShop later this year, Nintendo announced.

The title will be available from December 31 in North America and January 15 in Europe. The game features traditional Dr. Mario gameplay, apart from Dr. Luigi being able to prescribe pills in an L-shape. “It’s harder to get a game over [in L-capsule mode], so I think even players less comfortable with how the game works will enjoy this mode,” Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said.

Dr. Luigi features competitive multiplayer—where scoring combos will change the colors of your opponents pills on the fly—the Germ Buster mode from Brain Age, and a traditional Dr. Mario mode.
