The decision to create a Kickstarter campaign for Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey was a fantastic one as developer Red Thread has managed to secure almost double its original funding goal.

The developer was asking for $850,000 to create the game, but managed to secure $1,538,425. As a result the game will be released in November 2014 for PC, Mac, and Linux, with English, German, and French subtitles and voice overs at launch.

The extra money also means that Red Thread can improve the game’s story with more locations and characters. On top of this an interactive novel explaining the first two games will be included and Dreamfall Chapters‘ soundtrack can also be improved.
